Τα “Αποδημητικά Πουλιά” είναι η πρώτη εφημερίδα που γράφεται αποκλειστικά από έφηβα κορίτσια-πρόσφυγες που διαβιούν στο Κέντρο Φιλοξενίας Σχιστού. Το πρώτο φύλλο της εφημερίδας κυκλοφόρησε στις 14/4/17. Διαβάστε την κι εδώ.

“Migratory Birds” is the first newspaper written exclusively by refugee teenage girls who live in Schisto refugee camp. You can read here the full edition. Its first edition has been published at 14/4/17.

“Migratory Birds” was produced by the Network for Children’s Rights, thanks to the cooperation and support of Save the Children and the assistance of the daily Greek newspaper “Efimerida ton Syntakton” (EfSyn). The programme is funded by the UN’s Refugee Agency, UNHCR and the European Commission’s Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO)*.

The publication of the newspaper is part of the Network for Children’s Rights programme entitled “Contact points”, which aims to improve communication between refugees and the Greek community, in order to build understanding and bridge the distance between life inside the camps and the reality outside the camp. The programme consists of a) enhancement of dialogue inside the community of the camp and preparation for communicating with the outside world, b) information for minors about the social and cultural European and Greek way of life c) their socialisation and free expression through participation in meetings, talks and visits of a social, cultural, sporting and artistic nature, with the participation of Greeks d) the start of the integration processes through communication and acquaintance with their Greek peers and mutual interest groups such as sport organisations, recreational activities, language courses and, newspaper publishing, etc.
