The Culture Lab welcomes children, parents and volunteers every day in its welcoming space at Alkamenous 11b Street. In the Culture Lab, children participate in creative activity groups, learning support classes, art workshops and visits to theatrical performances and other cultural places.
Innovative educational programs aimed at school classes and other groups of children are implemented at the Culture Lab. Through the cultural and creative activities that take place, children are given a step for expression and opinion. With this approach, children have the opportunity to acquire skills, understand, conquer and experience their rights, but also to turn into active and aware citizens, who realize from an early age their obligation to respect the rights of those around them as and the environment.
Children from many different countries of origin participate in the Culture’s Lab activities. Through role plays, constructions, group games, songs and rich audiovisual material, all children have the opportunity to learn basic concepts and issues about their rights, their defense and assertion, as well as to highlight their mother tongues.
At Culture Lab also operated the “Myrsini Zorba” Children’s Lending Library, which includes 10,500 titles of children’s and adolescent books, including foreign and bilingual books. As part of the Library’s activities, a number of authors, illustrators and publishers visit us carrying out activities with their books and reading groups for children are implemented, with a variety of themes.
